Youth Performing Arts revives hit ëChildren of Eden

In response to numerous requests, Youth Performing Arts is bringing their production of Children of Eden to the community once again.

Originally performed by YPA in July of 2002 under the direction of Susan Swanson Novak, Children of Eden is a breathtaking and emotional story suitable for all ages.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, best known as songwriter and lyricist for Godspell, Children of Eden is perhaps the least describable Schwartz musical because it holds meaning on so many levels.

The story is based on the Bible book of Genesis from the creation through the story of Noahís Ark. However, audiences immediately experience that the relationships between Father (God) and Adam, Eve and Noah has more to do with earthly families, their immediate challenges, their generational legacies and the need to let humanity take responsibility for its own fate.

Children of Eden is written by John Caird and performed with the permission of Music Theater International.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 and 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-22 at Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Forest Lake.

A free will offering is requested. For information and reservations contact 651-433-3085.
