Growing up, I watched a lot of cartoons whose names would likely not be remembered by anyone who wasn’t a parent to young children in the early 2000s. I haven’t rewatched any of those cartoons while growing into adulthood, except for “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”
After rewatching the cartoon at least a dozen times in my life, I knew it would be hard for any live action remake to compare to the depth a cartoon with three seasons and 24 episodes can accomplish. Even though I have some issues with how it was remade, and how the script writers forget audiences don’t need every nuance to be overtly spoken, I am over the moon this show will share this story to a much wider audience. It feels like I am finally able to talk about “The Last Airbender” without getting weird looks that I enjoy a cartoon.
